Tiigra's Challenge

Tiigra was relieved and excited that Baer had won. The three friends had agreed to bet half their Talos on each other's fight. So not only was Baer a victor but she was richer as well. After placing all her Talos on herself to win she grabbed her spear and walked to the Arena.

She stopped for a brief second but forced herself to move forward. Her opponent was again a woman. That didn't bother her. She had been told by the last Patron to expect it. The fans loved to watch women fighting in the Arena. This way there would always be one woman to fight in the next matches.

What had caused her to pause was the armor. The woman had chainmail shirt with a metal shoulder pad and metal greaves. She also carried a Sword and a Small Shield. She held the shield the same way Tiigra had seen the soldiers in the Village. It would appear this woman is an ex-soldier. It had been an ex-soldier which had defeated Pantor. Tiigra felt the battle frenzy rising in her, this time she did not plan to control but to feed it. She had to defeat her opponent quickly

                                                               Tiigra                      Idonia
Idonia attacked first but Tiigra was able to fight her to a stand still. Tiigra circled around her but can't find an opening. Tiigra began to get worried. Idonia's reflexes were a quick as hers.

Tiigra fiented to the left but Idonia attacked head on. Tiigra countstriked but her spear was parried. Idonia fought Tiigar to a standoff. Idonia manuevered but could not find an opening.

Tiigra moved to catch her breath. Idonia moved after her. Tiigra gained the advantage attacking her unshielded side. She wounded Idonia's shield arm.

Idonia circled but Tiigra attacked head on hitting her leg. Tiigra pressed with another head on attack. Idonia blocked Tiigra's spear thrust with her shield.

Idonia caught her breath. Tiigra attacked head on. Idonia counterstriked but Tiigra parried her sword. They parried again. Idonia lunged past Tiigra as Tiigra hit her in the right leg.

Tiigra attacked while Idonia was knocked down gaining her unshielded side. Tiigra hit her in the chest.

Idonia stood up and attacked. She gained the advantage but Tiigra parried the blow. Idonia stabbed her sword and Tiigra parried it again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again. Idonia backed off realizing there was not way she was getting past Tiigra's defense. She had been fought to a stand still.

Tiigra and Idonia watch each other as they catch their breath. The exhausted fighters breathed deeply.

This happened for 2 and half turns; turns 10,11, and 12. I keep getting 0d6 successes. I didn't really mind. It is quick to roll and really seemed the appropriate thing to happen in a long fight.

Idonia charged but was fought to a stand still.

Idonia then feinted to the left but Tiigra recognized the trick. She moved to Idonia's unshielded side. This time Idonia defended against Tiigra to a stand still.

Tiigra slide left attacking to Idonia's unshielded side again. Tiigra stabbed the spear into Idonia's right leg. Her leg was now bleeding.

Tiigra pressed her attack moving to Idonia's unshielded side. Idonia parried the spear with her sword and shield four times before Tiigra struck her in the belly forcing her to the wall.

Idonia tried to move along the wall to find an opening but Tiigra stepped into Idonia's unshielded side. Idonia counterstriked but Tiigra parried her attacks twice then Tiigra counterstriked back. Idonia parried the first thrust. Tiigra second thrust hit Idonia's arm cutting the shield strap, knocking the shield from her grasp.

Tiigra moved to keep her spear between Idonia and her shield. Gaining an advantage Tiigra thrust with her spear. Idonia parried the attack with her sword.

Idonia overcome from exhaustion and blood loss was unable to raise her sword again. She dropped her sword. She then dropped to her knees and then fell to the ground dead.

Tiigra raised her spear over her head. To show the crowd she welcomed their praise in her victory. Tiigra was unsure if the crowd was cheering loudly for her hard fought battle victory or for the way the poise showed off her figure.

She really didn't care which it was. She knew that both would help her gain the fame she desired.

This was a really fun fight but it was really long as well. It took 14 turns. Tiigra had a hard time getting past the AC2 and the bad luck rarely in striking the same place twice. Idonia's head and right arm was the only places which was not hit.
