Pantor is the Final Fight

Pantor showed off with his hammer and daggar. He was fast and very good with the daggar. He had even thought about using two daggars but decided on the hammer because its ability to damage his opponent.

Pantor watch as his opponent entered the arena. He had the bearing of a trained fighter and he carried a huge 2 handed sword. He held his weapon in a formal position, Wulf believed Teofilo was a former soldier.

Pantor was in the Center of the Arena first. It was obvious his was much faster and agile than Teofilo. He now understood why the center part had not been dug out when it was built and left with grass. The gladiators had quickly removed the grass cover themselves while fighting.

Pantor was quick to strike first. He struck Teofilo in the chest with his hammer knocking him down.

Teofilo stood up and Pantor charge him again. He quickly slipped under the two-handed sword but Teofilo proved to be very slippery. In a burst of energy Teofilo dodged to the side causing Pantor to lunge past. Teofilo swung his great two-handed sword stiking the Pantor's arm. Pantor feel down into the dirt.

This is where Two Hour Games really shine. It is me against the game/dice. I decided that since my 6 Speed (4,4,6 stats) and Agile (+1d6 on maneuver). I would use my bonus dice sparingly. Only 2 a turn and only 1 per weapon. On the turn 4 (2nd turn of fighting, I always use 2 turns to move them to the Center) Teofilo (RSBM) used half his bonus dice Attack Phase. Where Pantor was going to have to defeat Teofilo with multiple hits, Teofilo had the ability to win with one swing.

Pantor looked in horror as he saw the grass turning red from blood. His blood. His right arm felt dead and he couldn't hold onto his hammer.

And Teofilo did!

Pantor got off the ground quickly and moved away to catch his breathe.
Pantor raised his dagger in front on him and watched Teofilo closely. He had to remained himself he was only hurt. The fight wasn't over and he still had a chance.

But it was and he didn't.

Pantor tried to keep away as best he could. He need to find an opening. He would force Teofilo to come after him. Every time Pantor would step away to catch his breathe and try to stop his bleeding Teofilo would charge. Pantor being faster and more agile would out manuever Teofilo and try to find his heart with his knife but the former Soldier would fend off the attack after attack after attack every time. Pantor showed his knifesman talents as he valiantly tried to get past Teofilo's sword. The whole village stood in silent admiration as Pantor fought 1 armed. Parry after Parry occured until Teofilo found his opening striking Pantor in the chest knocking him down.

This lasted over 3 turns with Pantor winning on manuever table but losing on the attack table to Teofilo. Pantor was too hurt to ever gain the advantage. I keep the bonus dice he had to offset the bleeding instead using them all at once to try for a lucky hit. At 4 strength and a dagger I believed I needed more than 1 hit to turn the battle. For Pantor turn 5 ended in Evenly Matched, Turn 6 ended in Evenly Matched. Turn 7 started with Pantor with the advantage on the attack table, then 4 Re-takes, Counter-Strike, Re-take, then Teofilo got the successes for a chest hit with knocked down.
To the ever lasting pride of his village, Pantor quickly got to his feet. He manuever for the advantage but Teofilo again parry and parry and parry his knife stike. Teofilo then launced his own counterstrike hitting Pantor in the chest. Pantor fell to the ground of the dirt areana.  His friends quickly went to his aid. They stopped the flow of blood and carried him to doctors hut.

The Three Friends said good-bye to the gladiator troupe. They had been invited to join them but the friends had declined. They did exchange the weapons, shields, and armor they had won as victors for weapons and armor of their choice.  They checked on Pantor in the Doctor's hut. He was alive but severly injured. It would be 3 months before he would be able to fight again.

It pained Baer, Wulf, and Tiigra to leave their friend behind but they needed to get down into the valley to fight. They had permanent Arenas and staged events each month.

Together Baer, Wulf, and Tiigra bade Pantor a strong life and strong children and left their friend behind. They followed the mountain path down to the largest village they knew. There they would face a new foe to the thrill of the crowds.

This is the reason I started with 4 Co-Stars instead of NPCs. I didn't want to lose a character right off the bat but I knew it would happend so I needed more than one.  I won't be using Pantor again but it is nice to know that he can return later as a NPC if I need him. So that is my plan for the Four Friends. All will be Co-Stars but when I have to use the Cheating Death Star Power if I still have Co-Stars the user will convert to a NPC.

Next the Three Friends to travel to a new Dirt Arena. The great thing about Legos, is I changed up the Dirt Arena for a more permanent look. I also can't wait to use my other Arenas as well. I have made all 4 types of Arenas using Legos.

The Friends will face new foes but there is always a chance Teolifo could show up again. I am using the NPC tables from the book but when a NPC is defeated I am rolling up a new NPC in the generation system and putting the new character in the defeated NPC's spot. The only rule I have is the new NPC has to be within 1 rating point of the NPC it is replacing.

The Friends have moved from rating 6 to 8 with their improvement in weapons and armor. Tiigra did get 2 Fame points. She successfully rolled an improvement. Her stats are now 5,5,5

Baer is 4,6,4
Wulf is 6,4,4

Pantor was 4,4,6.
